The Camino has a way of sorting things, sometimes for you, and sometimes for your fellow travellers. Perhaps this was the way for you to meet up again with Sarah, again, perhaps significant for her or for you. And yes, in avoiding the lavender, you have also perhaps avoided injury on the rugged descent into Molinaseca. Ponferrada is a great town - loved it on each of our Caminos — including the Bishop's palace (that the Bishop who commissioned it decided was too posh for him, so it became a pilgrim museum)
I would need a very big bag to carry all my stones! But that sounds like a really cathartic and spiritual experience. I’m loving all your descriptions of the whole experience. Keep them coming Tara 🩷

I have a lot of notes I didn’t post - fodder for the book.
And on my first Camino, I had two very weighty ‘stones’ - and felt relieved as soon as they were tossed to the pile. :-)
Love the contented look on your face with that glass of wine you're holding! Now that's my idea of travelling......hahaha
I loved Ponferrada but I lost my visor there and I definitely hold it against the beauty of the city for distracting me ;)
